With the following announcement the Embassy of Greece would like to provide information on the International Hellenic University (IHU), which was established by Law No. 3391 in October 2005 and constitutes the first Greek public university, where post graduate programmes are exclusively taught in English.

 

Backed by the Greek State, educationalists and businesses around the region, the IHU is set to become one of Europe's foremost research institutions and is focused on attracting leading academics and outstanding students from South East Europe (SEE) and across the world.

 

Its philosophy is based upon a combination of the following three concepts:

• Academic Excellence

• Practical Relevance

• International Outlook

 

Post graduate programmes

 

MSc in Management

      

School of Economics and Business Administration (www.econ.ihu.edu.gr)

Executive MBA

The programme has been developed by academics and practitioners with many years of business education experience and in close consultation with leading organisations in the region. The EMBA is a 24-month programme taught over a long weekend once a month.

 

MSc in Management

The programme is a highly flexible qualification that facilitates access to a wide range of careers in general management, marketing, operations and technology. The programme provides the option to follow either a General Management Stream or a Construction Management Stream.

 

MSc in Banking and Finance

The programme is designed to equip students for careers in financial institutions and industry and addresses issues relating to commercial and investment banking, fund management and corporate finance, international finance and risk management.

MSc in Energy Systems

The programme is a cross-disciplinary course which addresses technical, managerial and legal spheres of knowledge. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, from subjects with technology focus to those emphasizing on economics and policy. Environmental concerns and impact associated with energy supply and consumption are also examined.

MSc in Information and

Communication Technology Systems

The programme prepares students for a career in a variety of ICT-related industries by providing a comprehensive technological and managerial education.

• Information Systems Management

• Communication Systems Management

• Health Information Systems

• Information Systems for Sustainable Growth (Green ICT)

 

Programme Structure

The MSc programmes consist of four core courses, two required and three elective courses for each stream and a Master’s dissertation in the last term. Courses begin in October and are offered in full time and part time mode.

MA in Black Sea Cultural Studies

The programme is based on an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the history and culture of the Black Sea region. The study and interpretation of the historical and cultural data of this region will provide the student with an outstanding opportunity to specialize in a research domain of such significance in our times.

 

Specialisation streams:

• Archaeology - History

• Politics - Economy

 

Programme Structure

This MA is a full-time one-year programme (also offered in a part-time mode) comprised of three parts over three terms. The first two terms cover the core and elective modules. The third period is taken up with work on the Master’s dissertation.

This multidisciplinary programme addresses the legal and interlinking financial and economic issues surrounding the protection of works of art and cultural heritage.
