I. Diplomatic relations

The Greek Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, is also accredited to Cambodia. Conversely, the Cambodian Embassy in Belgium is also accredited to our country.

For consular affairs Greece is represented by the French Embassy in Phnom Penh.

II. Political relations

The geographical distance separating the two countries as well as the domestic political situation in Cambodia over the last 25 years have both impeded the development of close bilateral political ties.

However, Greece is now expected to establish links with Burma at multilateral level following Burmas recent accession to the international organization ASEM (Asia- Europe Meeting).

Cambodia supported Greeces bid to be elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. (Cambodia established diplomatic relations with FYROM under its constitutional name on 2^nd October 1996.)
