I. Diplomatic relations
The Greek Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, is also accredited to Singapore, whilst Singapores Embassy in Berlin is also accredited to Greece.
In consular affairs Greek interests are represented by the French Embassy in Singapore.
There is also a special Port Consular Office in Singapore, which looks after the interests of Greek shipping companies, as well as an Honorary Consulate.
II. Treaty Framework
Our country has signed a Civil Aviation Agreement with Singapore, and is currently negotiating an Agreement on avoidance of double taxation and an Agreement on Investment Protection.
III. Political relations
Our relations with Singapore on the political level can be described as very good.
Singapore supported Greeces candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
(On 8 May 1995 Singapore established diplomatic relations with FYROM under its constitutional name).
In June 2002 the then President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Kostis Stephanopoulos, visited Singapore while en route to Australia and met with President Nathan.
Finally, President Nathan of Singapore paid a private visit to Greece (30 May to 2 June 2005)
IV. Economic and trade relations
Our bilateral economic relations with Singapore are concentrated mainly in the area of merchant shipping. A number of Greek-owned shipping companies have offices in the country.
V. Cultural relations
In the context of her Asian tour, Nana Mouschouri gave a concert on 1 October 2005.
VI. Greek community
There are about forty Greeks or persons of Greek descent living in Singapore, most of them working for Greek-owned shipping companies.
