Greece has an Embassy in Lisbon, and Honorary Consulates in Porto, Funchal (Madeira), Angra do Heroismo and Ponta Delgada (Azores).

III. Political Relations
Relations between Greece and Portugal are chiefly determined by their membership in the E.U. and NATO.
Portugal has received official visits from Presidents Karamanlis, Sartzetakis and Stephanopoulos, and Greece has been visited by Presidents Eanes and Soares.
In May 1999 the then Prime Minister Gutierres visited Greece, while the then President of the Republic, Mr Stephanopoulos, paid a four-day official visit to Portugal in December of the same year.
The President of Portugal paid a return visit to Athens from 2 to 4 December 2002.
IV. Economic and Trade Relations
Trade: Our balance of trade with Portugal is negative.
Greek imports from Portugal: 110m euros (2003).
Main imports: Footwear, White Goods, Vehicles, Paints and Varnishes, Mens wear, and Natural Cork artefacts.
Greek exports to Portugal: 84m euros (2003).
Main exports: Cotton goods, yarns, plastic goods, fresh fish, tobacco, and sheet aluminium
Investments: Greek investment activity in Portugal includes the CHIPMA joint venture for the production of croissants and Bake Rolls, between CHIPITA of Greece and MATUPANO of Portugal (a PEPSICO subsidiary), and the PETZETAKIS (LIFLEX) investment for the production of plastic piping. Conversely, Portuguese investments in Greece comprise the joint venture in retail banking (VA BANK) between the Banco Commercial Portugus and the Interamerican Group, and the joint venture between the Portuguese Soane group and the Charagionis Greek construction company for the construction and management of two shopping malls: egean Park in Athens and editerranean Cosmos in Thessaloniki.
V. Cultural relations
The implementation of the Cultural Agreement between Greece and Portugal has resulted in a number of scholarships and scientific exchanges.
Cultural activities in 2004 included two classical music concerts - in Porto on 28.3 and in Lisbon on 13.5 - given by the Porto Symphony Orchestra Quartet and featuring works by Skalkottas.
VI. The Greek Community
There are few Greek expatriates in Portugal - some 240 individuals in all - most of them resulting from mixed marriages.
Portugal falls within the newly established Diocese of Iberia, which is based in Madrid. Mass is celebrated every other Sunday by an Orthodox priest in a catholic church which is graciously provided to this end.
