I. Diplomatic Relations
Greece and Paraguay do not have diplomatic authorities in each others country. Greece is represented in Paraguay by the Greek Embassy in Montevideo and Paraguay is represented in Greece by the Paraguayan Embassy in Vienna .
II. Framework of Treaties
The following two bilateral treaties have been concluded and already entered into force:

Educational, Scientific and Cultural Co-operation Agreement, which entered into force in 2004.

Agreement on the Reciprocal Abolition of Visas for Regular Passport Holders, which entered into force in 1998.
III. Political Relations
There are no problems of a political natural in bilateral relations between Greece and Paraguay. Moreover, the two countries co-operate very well in International Organisations .
Significant Greek high-level visits have been paid by the then Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs G. Niotis (1994), by the Greek Parliamentary Delegation (1995) and by the then Mayor of Athens D. Avramopoulos (2003).
The people of Paraguay are very knowledgeable about Greece and the Greek civilization, and hold both in high esteem.
Economic and Trade Relations
Purely bilateral trade relations between Greece and Paraguay are very limited.
There is some activity in the shipping sector and in particular river goods transport.
IV. The Greek Community
It is estimated that there are some seven families (25 people of Greek descent) in Paraguay. Since the number is small, there is no organized Greek Community. Ties between Greeks are maintained through occasional meetings. They speak Greek and they preserve Greek habits and customs.
